The Rye Garnets opened its season with a 4-3 loss to Glens Falls Indians in the annual Queensbury Thanksgiving Tournament.  After a scoreless first period, both Rye and Glens Falls scored twice in an action-packed second period.  Both Rye goals were scored by senior Captain Paul Mundinger, one a breakaway assisted by linemates Taka Katsuta and Ryan Rogers and the other a terrific angled shot in the upper right corner of the net.

Glens Falls scored two quick period goals to pull ahead in the third period.  Rye battled back in the closing minutes with a goal by junior Nick Rosenfield but ran out of time falling to the Indians.

Rye closes out its road trip with a game Saturday afternoon against host Queensbury Spartans, who have reached the State's Frozen Four championship in the two of the past three years.
